There is nothing Judge loves more than to be on the hunt… butt on the ground, ears high up and tense, eyes focused on the hill on the backyard through the glass in our back door. Then when he sees a rabbit, he gets up and bays hoping some of us will be dumb enough to let him go (which sadly happens all too often). If he gets out then he ALWAYS has to run into a particular neighbor’s yard while I get my shoes and his leash, if he stays in well… our door is starting to look less and less like a door.
So how about your dog?

I’m have a b-day party for my dog. He’ll be 1. There are kids coming age range 3-8. Any party ideas for them? It’s cold outside, so it has to be in the house…..I was going to have them “fetch their bones” with the goodie bag stuff inside a plastic bone with each kid’s name on it. Any other thoughts out there?

I am just curious what days and times are most convenient to hold my classes/activities – please advise. Would you choose Mon, Tues, Weds, Thurs, or Sun evening? Would you choose start times of 6:30, 7:00, or 7:30pm? (classes run 45 minutes to an hour) Thanks your feedback is greatly appreciated!

I had ran with my dog Jack alot for a few months untiL i had got injured, and stopped. After I stopped running with him, he seemed alot more mopey and less energy. Well, i started running with him again these past few weeks and his mopeyness has dissapeared! His mood is much more happier than he was. Could that have any affect on his mood at all?

We’re in the market for a puppy and need some advice.
We want a dog that meets most, if not all, of these traits:
* Good with kids
* Good with a cat (5 years old)
* Low activity level (indoor only for right now… will exercise at least once a day outside)
* Low-Med shedding
* Little to no barking
* Easy to train
* Loyal
* Responds when they’re name is called
We really want to get a lab but it’s a bit too big for our current condo we live in. It seems like it would be the best dog for us but the size is an issue.
We’ve also checked into Beagles but the downside to them (from what we’ve read) is that they dig, chew on things around the house, howl loudly (especially if left alone… not ideal for a condo), and they probably won’t come if they’re called while their nose is sniffing something (really because I problem because I’ve heard they can never be outside if they’re not on a leash).
Do you guys/gals have any recommendations on a breed we can check into?
